CareStar Rewards Employees’ Hard Work

The smell of the summertime air, an ice-cold beverage, the familiar taste of ballpark food and America’s pastime unfolding pitch by pitch… baseball provides a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to make memories and share special moments together.
CareStar, an Ohio-based healthcare company specializing in solutions for home and community based services, has a history in providing unique benefits to its employees, such as tickets to sporting events and concerts. Annually, each CareStar employee is offered the choice to attend either a Cleveland Indians or Cincinnati Reds home game.
Case Manager, Charity Chambers, and her husband went to see the Los Angeles Dodgers face the Cincinnati Reds on June 4, 2011. A sweltering heat filled Great American Ballpark along with the energy of 40,000 other baseball fans to see the 2010 National League Central Division Champions. “There was a homerun, so we were even able to see some fireworks” said Charity, “The Reds ended up losing, but the game went into extra innings so it was exciting!"
Another CareStar Case Manager, Christa Meyer, used her Reds tickets to take her son, Andy, to his first ball game for his 12 birthday. “I feel very blessed to work for such a great company,” said Christa, after sharing a very special day with her son.
For CareStar employees who are Indians fans, tickets to Progressive Field allowed them to enjoy a game in beautiful downtown Cleveland. “It was just a great environment to learn about and interact with my co-workers while having a fun and relaxing night!” said Rick Kohut, Community Outreach Manager. After the dust settled and the teams left the dugout, it was not about the number of balls and strikes or hits and runs… the true beauty of these games was found in the camaraderie of CareStar employees and their company's appreciation for their hard work.
