Communicable Disease Training – 6 hours. Length of certification 3 years. Cost and availability varies by location. Average $50.
Caregiving -- Caregiving consists of nine one-hour modules covering topics including General Caregiving skills, Positioning and helping someone move, home safety, nutrition, assisting with personal care and caring for the caregiver. Courses are taught in most large Red Cross chapters across the state. The courses can also be taught by individuals who have healthcare certification and/or licensure related to patient care including doctors, nurse, licensed social worker, occupational/physical therapist, and certified nursing assistant. Cost varies.
