The public health/school nursing staff offers several programs that provide Clinton County with medical services from skilled nurses, immunization clinics and developmental clinics. Outreach Developmental Clinics. The Outreach Developmental Clinics are for children ages 0-6 years who are not meeting appropriate developmental milestones. A team from CCDD (Center for Children with Developmental Disorders) completes the assessments. The Clinic is held every odd month, on the second Tuesday. Mental Health Recovery Services of Warren & Clinton Counties (MHRS) is the local ADAMHS board that plans, funds, monitors and evaluates services
 
and programs for residents with serious mental and emotional disorders and/or substance addictions.

Under Ohio law, MHRS is required to research community needs for mental health, alcohol and drug addiction services, then prioritize and plan strategies to meet them.

To do that, Ohio law authorizes MHRS and other boards to contract with nonprofit agencies and other organizations that provide services and programs promoting recovery. Funding is also directed to some support programs for families and others affected by an individual's illness.

Compeer is a not for profit organization which matches compassionate volunteers in a supportive relationship with adults receiving mental health treatment. Through the power of friendship, consumers are able to decrease feelings of isolation and loneliness, improve their ability to trust, increase self-esteem and self-confidence, and help reduce the stigma of mental illness. The Compeer staff aids in the Recovery process by bringing potential matches together. Additionally, the staff is always available to provide any assistance necessary to the consumers to help them on their journey to good mental health.

Compeer staff provides training for volunteers. They hold bi-monthly meetings of volunteers to provide further training and share their input, answer questions, etc. Compeer staff is easily accessible for any problems or questions that may arise.

Compeer offers many different group opportunities throughout the year for fun and socialization. However, at the same time, they stress the one-on-one relationship between Compeer matches.

The mission of 4C is to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of early childhood education in Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Direct services are provided to a fifteen Southwestern Ohio counties (Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby and Warren) and to eight Northern Kentucky counties (Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton). The agency assists families, child care programs, family child care providers, and employers in the following services:

For Parents

  • educates parents on selecting quality child care
  • operates the only area Child Care Resource and Referral Service to assist parents in finding child care
  • maintains a database of over 1500 child care options in our service delivery area including licensed child care centers, preschools, school-age child care programs, and 4C registered family child care homes
For Child Care Providers
  • provides regular training and technical assistance
  • offers assistance to individuals who want to start a center based program
  • sponsors the USDA reimbursement program for serving nutritious meals to children in care
  • recruits individuals interested in becoming family child care providers
For Employers
  • provides enhanced resource and referral services to the employees of participating companies
  • facilitates on-site parenting workshops and seminars for employees of participating companies
  • consults with employers on work and family issues such as sick child care and parental leave

supported by a local tax levy, funds from Title III
of the Older Americans Act, and co-payments from
clients who are able to contribute to the cost of
their care. Donations are also
accepted for the home-delivered
meals program.
The program is administered by
Council on Aging of Southwestern
Ohio in cooperation with the
Clinton County Commissioners and
Clinton County Citizens for Elderly
Services, Inc.
Other agencies provide a variety of services, such
as home repair and electronic monitoring devices,

Adoptive parents can be married or single and should be emotionally mature.  They should be able to give a child unconditional love, security and adequate care.  Adoptive parents need to be over the age of 18 and if married, need to have been married for at least one year.  Home ownership is not required.  Your home or apartment should have sufficient room for an addition to your family.  You will not be excluded because you choose to rent.  Single, working parents will need to make satisfactory child care arrangements.  The adopting parents should possess personal qualities of maturity, stability, flexibility, and provide a positive role model for the child.
