The agency is mandated by law and committed to: Investigating
all reports of child abuse, neglect, or dependency Providing casework
staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through emergency on-call
services. Responding to emergency situations in one hour when a child
is reported to be at imminent risk. Providing supportive services
to children and their families to eliminate abuse and neglect of children.
Providing substitute care for abused, neglected, and dependent children
who cannot safely remain in their homes. Providing permanent homes,
through adoption, for those children, who can never be reunited with
their parents of legal custodian. |

The Access Center is a
non-profit, non-residential center for independent living funded
through Title VII of the Rehabilitation Act and whose board and
staff are comprised entirely of people with disabilities.
Our mission is to ensure that people with disabilities have complete
access to the communities in which they wish to live. We

living skills training, peer support, our recycled durable medical
