Hospice care is beneficial for anyone of any age, with any life limiting disease; it is provided when it is believed patients have six months, or less, to live. While many hospice patients have cancer, hospice care provides great comfort and support for patients with all types of illnesses including heart, lung, kidney, vascular and neuromuscular diseases, Alzheimer’s and other types of dementias, AIDS and birth defects.

The mission of the Community Action Commission of Fayette County is to combat causes of poverty, expand community services, and implement projects necessary to provide services and further community improvements. Its mission is also to consider the problems concerning youth, adults and senior citizens and deal with the prevention and solving of those problems. The provision of affordable housing is a specific purpose of the agency, as is the development of income-generating projects consistent with the purposes of the corporation which will increase funds available for services and reduce the agency's dependence on public funds.

The Fayette Metropolitan Housing Authority (FMHA) is federally funded through the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). We serve the communities of both Fayette and Highland Counties in Ohio.


The purpose of our agency is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for the low-income families. In order to be eligible for our programs, there are income limits that cannot be exceeded, depending on your family size. (Income limits are subject to change annually.) See the Administrative Plan which incorporates the mission statements and policy procedures.


The FMHA accepts applications Monday thru Thurs. 7:30am to 12:00pm & 1:00pm to 3:30pm. If you are elderly or handicapped, you may have a representative fill out the application for you. The representative must have information regarding your Social Security Number and income.
