The Warren County Department of Human Services is the mandated agency responsible for providing protective services for those adults sixty (60) years of age or older at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Any referral of an adult at risk will be investigated by the Adult Protective Service Worker. She will work with the adult, family and neighbors to reduce or eliminate any risk and arrange for services to assist the adult to remain safely in his/her home. Protective services such as casework, medical care, guardianship and legal services, food, clothing, and in-home care are utilized to prevent or reduce conditions causing endangerment to the older adult. If it is determined that the adult is incapacitated or unable to remain safely in his/her home, then the APS worker will work to determine the least restrictive setting and, if necessary, petition the probate court for assistance in protecting the adult.

Public children's services agencies are required to investigate and assess reports of child abuse and neglect and to intervene when necessary to protect children who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or dependency. The Public Children Services Agency will complete an assessment and, work with the family to develop a case plan identifying services necessary to reduce risk to the child and prevent the abuse or neglect from reoccurring.

Provides services 24 hours a day, seven days a week for anyone physically / emotionally abused, threatened or intimidated by a family / household members as well as sexual assault victim. Twenty-four hour crisis intervention services for victims of abuse and rape include: legal and social service agency advocacy; therapeutic children's group; and adult support groups. The 13-bed shelter serves more than 150 families each year.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC's) serve men and women with social, emotional and spiritual needs who have lost their ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. The ARC's provide adequate housing with work, group and individual therapy in clean, wholesome surroundings.

Physical and spiritual care prepare those men and women to re-enter society and return to gainful employment. Frequently those rehabilitated are reunited with families and resume a normal lifestyle.

The work therapy program of the ARC's includes the collection and repair of donated materials and the operation of Salvation Army Thrift Stores in which restored goods are sold at reasonable prices. Proceeds from these stores, in turn, support the programs of the ARC's

The Middletown City Health District is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and improving the health of residents of the City of Middletown. Our mission is to provide those services, as mandated by the statutes of the State of Ohio and/or required by the OHIO PUBLIC HEALTH COUNCIL'S minimum standards for local health departments, in a courteous, efficient, effective, and cost-effective manner.

Within the Middletown Health Department is Vital Statistics which issues certified birth and death records. For events that occur within the Middletown City Limits. The cost of these records is $17.00 each.

The Enviromental Health Division inspects and licenses food services, mobile home parks, tattoo facilities, swimming pools and septic systems. This section also investigates nuisance and dog bite complaints within the city limits.

The Health Education Division offers information to the community regarding a wide variety of health issues and programs.

For over eighty years, Ohio Valley Goodwill has been providing rehabilitation, training, and employment services to individuals with either disabilities or social and economic barriers to full employment. These services include vocational assessment, and occupational skills training in areas from food service to office procedures & computer technology. Additional services include employment assistance and work site support services, as well as technology for independence which allows individuals with special needs to handle barriers in the home, school, or on the work site. County Board Sponsored Services are designed to address the working needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. All programs offered by Goodwill are individually designed to reflect the interests and needs of individuals seeking to improve their working status or to fully participate in community activities. Provides clothes, coats, shoes, blankets, linens, utensils, and small appliances as well as assorted books and toys to men, women, and children of all ages in Warren County. We are located in the basement of the Franklin Area Community Services building. Accepts clothes that are in good / clean condition and other items that are also in good working order only. A receipt for donations will be given upon request. If requiring any special needs, please note on your sign-in form so that we may contact you if we receive the items needed. If an emergency arises prior to that time, please call. Each new family registered, upon request, can receive a New Testament Bible.

We provide evening meals to hungry children through Kids Cafe. We help people find safe places to live.
