The Emergency Relief Division of Veterans Service Commission provides Basic Living Needs to eligible veterans, family members and widows on Short-Term Emergency Relief Basis.

· These include:

· Rent/Utilities

· Food

· Medical

· Clothing

· Transportation to VA, Medical Centers, VA out-patient clinics & Ohio Veterans Home for veterans who have scheduled appointments

 

Veterans Services Division:

The Services Division of the Veterans Commission provides assistance to veterans who are dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

· Theses included:

· Assisting veterans, dependants and surviving family members who are applying for DVA benefits.

· Preparation of forms and paper work

· Documentation of claims and pertinent data

· Proper submission of claims to DVA and follow-up

· Grave Markers

 

The purpose of the Veterans Service Commission is NOT to subsidize an unsatisfactory lifestyle. Rather it's to provide TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE to those who will make a conscientious effort to find a permanent solution to their financial problems

Program Goal

The primary goal of the Caregiver Resource Center is to create a central resource point in Williams County for caregivers to get education, support, and resources necessary to effectively assist them in their challenging role.

Case Management Services

A unique case management program provides a registered nurse to do in-home assessments of caregiver needs. The RN offers resources, advice on caregiving, and provides:

  •  Crisis intervention
  •  Needs assessment including: home and safety education
  •  Family linkage to helpful resources
  •  Individual care plan and goals
  •  Education and support
